Our People

Our management team (other than our Finance Manager) all started as field technicians and have worked their way up through the company to their current positions. As such, they are highly experienced in the industry and are all qualified horticulturalists.

Sam Wagner - Managing Director

Sam purchased the business from Hazel in 2017 identifying the opportunity to develop and diversify this successful and very well resourced family style business. The family element is important to Sam as it means the people you are doing business with are the people that own the business. Sam has a background in strategic business and marketing and is passionate about horticulture and outdoor environments, while relying on a dynamic and exceptionally trained team of more than 100 passionate horticulturalists.

Nick Trestrail - Finance and Administration Manager

Nick joined the Plant Management Company in 2009 and heads up our Finance and Administration. Nick is CPA qualified and has over 15 years' accounting experience within commercial environments across a broad range of industries. Nick's focus is on delivering a high level of customer service through accurate client reporting and invoicing procedures.

Michael Cornah - Operations Manager, Queensland

Michael has been employed by the Plant Management Company since 1998 and has worked in various positions in both Queensland and Victoria. Michael's current role as Operations Manager Queensland demands that he calls on his vast practical knowledge as a horticulturist, his long term association with the Plant Management Company and his desire to provide outstanding customer service.

Paul Hanson - Operations Manager, Victoria

Paul has been employed by the Plant Management company since 2007 and has worked his way up from simple beginnings as the water truck operator all the way to his current role as the Operations Manager. Pauls current role has him working closely with clients as well as in the field with all crews helping to achieve the best result for all and giving guidance in all facets of horticulture.

Peter Kerr - Operations Support & HR Manager

Peter joined the Plant Management Company in 1995 and has worked across all facets of the business. He is a highly qualified and experienced horticulturist and has qualifications in Safety management and Human Resource management. Peter spent many years managing our safety management, risk assessment, environmental management and HR. In 2016 Peter moved into our Operations team.

Matt Caruso – Workplace Health & Safety Advisor

Matt Started with The Plant Management Company in 2002, working as a Technician and later as one of our Team Leaders. He holds qualifications in Horticulture, Irrigation as well as health and safety. Matt stepped into the roll as the companies Health and Safety Advisor in January 2016.
